Upper Primary Maths

The benefits of studying Primary Maths

Mathematics equips children with the ability to reason logically, to solve problems and to think in abstract ways. It is integral to nearly all aspects of life. With this in mind we have developed our Upper Primary Maths homeschooling course to help children develop a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards mathematics that will stay with them.

The main focus of Mathematics is to ensure that children become confident with numbers, using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in a range of contexts. This will ensure that they develop written and mental methods to perform calculations accurately with increasingly large whole numbers. Our Primary Maths homeschooling course covers the requirements of the UK National Curriculum over six years.

Please note you need to register with Vimeo for free in order to view all of the course resources.

For more details of the curriculum see a summary of the areas of study here: Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6

Once completed, our Upper Primary Maths course lays the foundations for children to transition smoothly to our Secondary Maths course.

Our experience with Wolsey Hall Oxford has been excellent! Ella is thriving on her Primary homeschooling courses. She is enjoying the creativeness of the English programme and how it allows learning while bringing in her own interests such as a biography on her favourite author.
