Lower Secondary online courses

Courses for ages 11-14

Wolsey Hall’s Lower Secondary online courses have been created for ages 11-14 (Years 7, 8 and 9 in the UK). Each course is designed to take 9 months, the equivalent of an academic year.

At Lower Secondary, all children are expected to study three core subjects: Mathematics, English and Science. In addition, children should also choose to study a range of other subjects that they enjoy so as to experience a broad and balanced curriculum and lay the necessary foundations for their future IGCSE studies.

Our Lower Secondary online courses are designed to be engaging and fun, as well as academically rigorous. They offer an excellent level of challenge for children and the course materials are differentiated to suit the individual needs of your child to help them develop their full potential.

For this reason, our courses are also open to students who may be younger or older than the recommended ages of 11-14. We believe that the stage your child has reached in their learning is more important than their age. So, if your child is a Maths whizz but their language skills are less developed, it might be right for them to study Year 9 Maths but Year 7 English.

Our Secondary students have their own dedicated Community website where they can participate in clubs and competitions. This allows students to engage in more holistic, non-academic activities and develop other competences and skills.
