I am a qualified teacher of Business Studies and Economics, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Having grown up in a family business, I studied Economics at University and rather than return to the family business I went into Banking. During this time, I completed an MBA.
Having grown disillusioned with the banking sector I studied for a PGCE in Business Education and have worked in UK colleges, schools and Universities, teaching all aspects of Business and Economics.
I believe Business and Economics are the most important and interesting subjects you can study. The world economy changes daily and has far-reaching repercussions. Studying Economics and Business Studies equips you with the skills to make sense of the world around you while developing the skills to make informed decisions in the future.
I have a great interest in Enterprise, and I have been successfully involved in several enterprise initiatives as both a mentor and a judge in competitions. My other interest is Retail, and I find the rapid changes that are taking place fascinating and challenging. I also love shopping so I can always claim I am researching.
I am from Liverpool and now live in Leeds. I would like to say I have a wide variety of hobbies, but I watch too much television. I have a small dog and she enjoys walking more than me, but I go with her!
I am delighted to be part of the Wolsey Hall Tutor team, and I look forward to sharing my passion for Business, Economics and learning while supporting you through your course.
